Priyanka Chopra to produce film on Rabindranath Tagoreâs first crush
According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, Priyanka Chopra is all set to produce a film based on Rabindranath Tagore’s first real life romance. According to the report, the poet fell in love with a girl in Mumbai as a teenager. In 1878, when he was 17 and staying with Dr Atmaram Pandurang Turkhud in Mumbai, Tagore fell in love with his 20-year-old daughter, Annapurna. He went on to call her Nalini and even composed a famous poem in her praise. Director Ujjwal Chatterjee had this to say about the project. “It was a platonic love story and the film will narrate it from the point of view of a young student, who visits modern-day Santiniketan and sees a picture of Annapurna captioned Nalini.”
The film would be made as a bilingual in Bengali and Marathi and would also be dubbed in Hindi.
