Akshay Kumar recently received the best actor award for his 2016 film 'Rustom' at the 64th National Film Awards ceremony. The actor is presently shooting for R Balki's 'Padman' in Manori. 'Padman' also casts Sonam Kapoor and is produced by his wife Twinkle Khanna.

The biographical film is inspired by Tamil Nadu-based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who revolutionised sanitary hygiene in rural India by creating a low-cost sanitary napkin machine.
