Shahid Kapoor gave his all for yet another Vishal Bhardwaj film and this time it is with a Casablanca love twist. Yes, we have been learning a lot about Shahid and Vishal’s forthcoming venture Rangoon of late and now we got hold of some information on how Shahid Kapoor prepared for his role.
Shahid Kapoor apparently required pistol training for the film and he wanted to learn it from one of the best. He approached none other than Ronak Pandit who bagged gold in the Men’s 25m Standard Pistol category at the Commonwealth Games in 2006.
Appreciating the actor’s dedication towards his craft, Ronak Pandit also couldn’t stop gushing about Shahid’s shooting skills. Claiming that it runs in his blood, Ronak further was all praises for the actor’s fast learning skills and added that in two days, he seemed pretty effortless. He was also left impressed by Shahid Kapoor’s punctuality.
Talking about the training part, Ronak elaborated that the duo often trained at Malad and Worli centres in Mumbai, located in suburban and South side of the city respectively and that they followed the steps often used for the training in Olympics. From experimenting with different calibre pistols to shooting ranges to getting precision on the angles, Shahid Kapoor decided to study it in detail. He had a few long range shots in the film and wanted them to be convincing. They also went to the Worli range where they used firearm with real bullets.
Besides Shahid, Rangoon also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kangna Ranaut in lead roles and is slated to release on February 24.
